What is a bluetooth adapter?

This thing rocks. When I realized how to load drivers which were downloaded on line in windows seven it was pretty intuitive. I was able to hot sync data from my Palm Centro phone and hear stereo audio from pandora on my pc after it discovered my plantronics bluetooth stereo headset. This product is OK. Plug & play on Window 7 Ultimate. But use is limited. I tried with cell phone and mouse; it worked with mouse but kept dropping phone calls.
